“Home to me is familiarity, family, comfort, and love,” shares Zoe Tay, Queen of Caldecott Hill and one of Singapore’s most iconic figures. In an SG60 issue paying homage to our home, Vogue Singapore visited the Peranakan Museum to explore a storied past that continues to shape us—and who better to front it than a national icon? A household name since the late ’80s, Tay graces the cover of the July/August ‘Home’ issue. Through batik, silk, ceramic lace, gold filigree, and blooming peonies, the visuals come alive with custom and archival pieces by Southeast Asian designers including Adeline Esther, Behati, Laichan and Raymond Wong.
Joining Tay as our second cover star is rising actress Tasha Low, whose career has been marked by transformation—from her K-pop debut in Skarf to her breakout role in Emerald Hill – The Little Nyonya Story. “I hope to keep creating work that feels honest and grounded, whether that’s in Singapore or beyond,” she shares.
While Tay reflects on legacy and identity, and Low on professional growth and return, both ruminate on the meaning of home.
